Father and son

What happens when two generations show their colors together?

In “Father & Son,” the creative curiosity of young Max meets the profound knowledge of materials and lifelong experience of his father, the renowned sculptor Franz Leinfelder, known for his striking material paintings and sculptures in public spaces.

Franz brings decades of experience in wood, iron, and found objects—his works testify to archaic poetry and the perfection of a surveyor. Max brings his experimental style, which is also evident in live painting performances in front of festival audiences. The two perform together in the historic industrial building of the pumping station—a dialogue of generations, technology, and emotion.

The exhibition invites you to discover the intersections between tradition and innovation: between relief collage and the expressive, between the familiar and the surprising. A rare, intimate encounter between two artists writing a shared chapter – visible in form, color, and space.
